Niagara Stealth 0.8 GPF Toilet Reviews in 2026 (Save Tons of Water)

Most of the time, people rush to buy popular toilet brands such as TOTO, Kohler, and American Standard without comparing other reliable manufacturers. Niagara may not be as well-known, but it produces some of the most water-efficient toilets available.

The Niagara Stealth two-piece toilet is an excellent example of a low-flow toilet. It uses just 0.8 gallons of water per flush (GPF), significantly less than the 1.28 GPF used by many modern high-efficiency toilets. This can help homeowners save water and reduce their water bills.

Another outstanding feature is Niagara’s patented vacuum-assist flushing technology, which combines powerful waste removal with quiet operation. In these Niagara Stealth toilet reviews, we’ll compare two popular models, explain their features, and discuss installation, common problems, and maintenance.

Most Popular Niagara Stealth Toilet Reviews in 2026

The Niagara Stealth series is worth considering if you want a water-saving toilet with dependable flushing performance. Its patented flushing system uses an air transfer tube and vacuum assistance to move waste efficiently without the loud operation commonly associated with traditional pressure-assisted toilets.

Unlike conventional pressure-assisted systems, Niagara’s Stealth technology does not require a separate compressed-air pressure vessel. Its flapperless design also eliminates one common source of toilet tank leaks.

Both models reviewed below feature a 12-inch rough-in, a chrome top-mounted flush button, and EPA WaterSense certification.

1. Niagara 77001WHCO1 Stealth Elongated Bowl Toilet

Some toilets create unnecessary noise or require multiple flushes to remove solid waste. The Niagara Stealth 77001WHCO1 addresses these concerns with its quiet and powerful vacuum-assisted flushing system.

Constructed from durable vitreous china, this two-piece toilet features an elongated bowl that provides additional seating comfort. Its 0.8 GPF flushing system uses approximately 37.5% less water than a 1.28 GPF toilet.

For a household flushing 20 times daily, that difference represents approximately 3,504 gallons of water saved annually compared with a 1.28 GPF model. Actual savings depend on household use and whether additional flushes are needed.

The toilet also features a fully glazed 2-inch trapway, a polished chrome flush button, and an efficient air transfer system. It is EPA WaterSense certified, and eligible buyers may qualify for local water conservation rebates.

The elongated bowl is especially useful for people who prefer additional sitting space. However, you should check the toilet’s dimensions before purchasing, particularly if your bathroom is small.

Cons:

  • A toilet seat may need to be purchased separately.
  • The elongated bowl requires more front-to-back space than a round model.
  • Some internal flushing components are specific to Niagara’s Stealth system.

2. Niagara 77002WHCO1 Stealth Round Bowl Toilet

If you’re looking for an ultra-high-efficiency toilet with a compact bowl, the Niagara 77002WHCO1 is another excellent choice. It offers many of the same features as the elongated version but comes with a round bowl.

Like the previous model, this toilet uses 0.8 gallons of water per flush. The vacuum-assist flushing mechanism helps remove waste efficiently while keeping noise relatively low.

Using the toilet is simple. Just press the chrome push button on top of the tank to activate the flushing system. Its fully glazed trapway helps waste pass through smoothly.

The round bowl makes this model a practical option for smaller bathrooms. However, round bowls generally offer less seating space than elongated toilets.

The toilet also features a flapperless design, which reduces maintenance associated with worn-out rubber flappers. Keep in mind that other components, such as the fill valve and seals, may still require maintenance over time.

If your main priorities are water conservation, quiet flushing, and saving bathroom space, the Niagara 77002WHCO1 deserves consideration.

How Does Niagara Stealth Toilet Flushing Technology Work?

One of the most interesting features of the Niagara Stealth toilet is its patented vacuum-assist flushing system. Unlike conventional gravity toilets, which rely mainly on the weight of water, Niagara uses an air transfer tube to improve flushing performance.

As the tank fills, water enters a specially designed chamber and moves air through the transfer tube. When you press the flush button, the system creates a vacuum-assisted effect that helps pull waste through the trapway.

This design offers several advantages:

  • Powerful flushing with very little water.
  • Quiet operation using a noise-reducing tank design.
  • Reduced maintenance because there is no traditional flapper.
  • Effective waste removal without electricity.

Although Niagara Stealth toilets use vacuum assistance, they should not be confused with conventional pressure-assisted toilets, which use a different flushing mechanism.

Common Niagara Stealth Toilet Problems and Solutions

Like other toilets, Niagara Stealth models can develop problems after years of use. Fortunately, many common issues are relatively straightforward to diagnose.

1. Poor Flushing Performance

If your Niagara Stealth toilet is not flushing properly, possible causes include an incorrect tank water level, clogged trapway, blocked air transfer tube, or malfunctioning flush mechanism.

Possible solutions: Check that the water supply valve is fully open and the tank fills to the manufacturer’s recommended level. If the bowl drains slowly, use a toilet plunger or closet auger to remove obstructions. Inspect the flushing components according to the Niagara service instructions.

Do not remove or modify the internal vacuum-assist assembly without following the manufacturer’s instructions.

2. Fill Valve Keeps Running

A continuously running fill valve may result from debris, a worn seal, incorrect float adjustment, or a faulty valve.

Possible solutions: Inspect the fill valve for debris and check the float setting. Clean or replace the valve seal if necessary. If the valve is badly worn, replace it with a compatible component.

3. Toilet Leakage

Leaks may occur around the water supply connection, tank-to-bowl gasket, mounting bolts, or wax ring beneath the toilet.

Possible solutions: Identify where the water originates before replacing parts. Tighten loose connections carefully and replace damaged gaskets or washers. If water appears around the toilet base during flushing, inspect the flange and wax seal.

If you’re unsure where the leak is coming from, shut off the water supply and have the toilet inspected.

Niagara Stealth Toilet Installation Process

Installing a Niagara Stealth toilet is similar to installing many standard two-piece toilets. However, you should follow the model-specific instructions to avoid damaging the internal flushing system.

Step 1: Prepare the Installation Area

Turn off the water supply and remove the old toilet. Measure the rough-in distance from the finished wall to the center of the floor flange. The two models reviewed here require a 12-inch rough-in.

Step 2: Install the Toilet Bowl

Inspect the flange and position the new wax ring or compatible seal. Carefully lower the bowl onto the mounting bolts, making sure it sits level. Tighten the nuts gradually without overtightening.

Step 3: Attach the Toilet Tank

Position the tank gasket according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Place the tank onto the bowl and secure it with the supplied hardware. Tighten both sides evenly to avoid cracking the porcelain.

Step 4: Adjust the Flush Button

Install the tank lid and check that the chrome flush button operates correctly. Ensure the button mechanism is properly aligned without placing constant pressure on the flush assembly.

Step 5: Install the Toilet Seat

Attach a compatible round or elongated toilet seat using the mounting holes provided. If you’re replacing an existing seat, follow our guide to installing a new toilet seat.

Step 6: Connect the Water Supply

Connect the water supply line and open the shutoff valve slowly. Allow the tank to fill, inspect every connection for leaks, and perform several test flushes.

Difference Between Glacier Bay and Niagara Toilets

Glacier Bay and Niagara manufacture water-efficient toilets, but their flushing systems and designs differ. The following comparison shows typical differences between a standard 1.28 GPF Glacier Bay gravity toilet and a 0.8 GPF Niagara Stealth.

  1. I HAVE YOUR MODEL N7714 STEALTH TOILET AND A PLUMBER HAS BEEN OUT 4 TIMES BECAUSE THE WATER LEVEL AFTER A FEW HOURS GOES WAY DOWN TO ALMOST THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWL.
THEY ADJUSTED THE LEVEL 4 TIMES BUT IT STILL GOES DOWN.
AND THE FIRST TIME YOU PRESS THE BUTTON NOT MUCH HAPPENS THEN YOU MUST PRESS IT AGAIN AND THE WATER WILL PROPERLY FLUSH. SOMETIMES YOU MUST FLUSH IT TWICE OR YOU MUST USE THE PLUNGER. MY TOILET HAS A PROBLEM I THINK THE INSIDE PARTS NEED TO BE REPLACED.

  2. I have two, first for two years and new install. They are easy to install and have everything including seat but no hose. If you are a 350 pounder this unit may not be for you but for average people this can save the planet.
